Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI)

The Principles for Responsible Investment (“PRI”) is an international network of investors organized to realize the six principles proposed to the financial services sector by the then Secretary-General of the United Nations in 2006.
The principles advocate possible actions for incorporating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues into investment decision-making process to enhance long-term investment results for beneficiaries.

Diamond Realty Management Inc. became a signatory in May 2017. We are one of the few real estate fund asset manager based in Japan to sign the Principles for Responsible Investment.

The Six Principles of the PRI
  1. We will incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.
  2. We will be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.
  3. We will seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which we invest.
  4. We will promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry.
  5. We will work together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles.
  6. We will each report on our activities and progress towards implementing the Principles.

Participation in the DPR’s GRESB

“Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB)” is a benchmark developed by a group of leading European pension funds, such as APG and PGGM. It evaluates the ESG performance of real estate companies and funds, and is becoming a de facto standard among major European, American and Asian institutional investors utilized in their investment decision-making processes.
Dream Private REIT ; the private REIT fund of Diamond Realty Management Inc. agreed to the idea of GRESB and joined it since 2017.
