Diamond Realty Management (DREAM) was founded in October 2004 based on Mitsubishi Corporation’s real estate and financial business expertise. DREAM now provides a solid platform for Mitsubishi Corporation to be fully involved in the real estate investment business through private funds designed for both domestic and foreign institutional investors.

Japan’s commercial real estate market conditions began to improve significantly from about the year2000, and combined assets under management of J-REITs and private funds reached more than JPY 20 trillion (as of December 2008). We believe commercial real estate will continue to play an important role in the portfolios of Japanese institutional investors. On the other hand, there are very few professional real estate investment managers in Japan who truly understand the meaning of “fiduciary duty” and can deliver what is required by domestic and international institutional investors.

Mitsubishi Corporation has accumulated significant experience over the years in the development and management of various types of real estate including in the retail, industrial, office and multifamily sectors, and also has a great deal of experience in managing assets of institutional investors through multiple investment funds. In addition, Mitsubishi Corporation has successfully built a publicly-traded J-REIT management platform, Mitsubishi Corp.- UBS Realty Inc., the asset manager of two J-REITs with total assets under management in excess of JPY 600 billion. Japan Retail Fund, the first J-REIT focused on the retail sector, was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in March 2002, and Industrial & Infrastructure Fund, focused on both industrial and infrastructure properties, was listed in October 2007.
